As a Marco Polo/Turandot student, you can apply for a normal prepaid bank card (carta prepagata generica) at the Banca BPER, which has a collaboration with the University of Pavia. This card is a reloadable prepaid card with IBAN that allows you to make payments or withdrawals in Italy and abroad, as well as certain operations typical of a current account:
- credit your salary
- receive and arrange bank transfers
- recharge mobile phones
- pay utility bills
In order to apply for this prepaid bank card, you need to book an appointment with the Banca BPER Pavia branch, located in Piazzale Ponte Coperto Ticino 11 Pavia, by sending an email to pavia.sede@bper.it using the following text:

Gentilissimi,
Sono uno studente del Programma Marco Polo/Turandot dell'Università di Pavia e scrivo per richiedere un appuntamento per l'ottenimento della Carta prepagata generica
In allegato trasmetto tutti i documenti richiesti.

- your passport
- your italian codice fiscale (italian tax code)
- an italian mobile phone number
- your italian address
- a copy of your residence permit receipt
- acceptance letter of Program Marco Polo/Turandot
