Application and enrollment

Requirements for the Marco Polo Program for students who want to enroll in a BA in Italy:

• a Chinese high school diploma with 12 years of schooling;

• a “Gao Kao” exam score of at least 400/750 or equivalent, in accordance with the guidelines provided by the Italian Diplomatic Representation in China.

For students from Hong Kong and Macau, who are not subject to the Gao Kao exam system, their study documentation will be evaluated by the university and the competent Italian Consular Authority to verify the necessary requirements for admission to study courses in Italy.

Requirements for the Marco Polo Program for students who want to enroll in a MA in Italy:

• having obtained the bachelor’s degree;

Requirements for the Turandot Program for students who want to enroll in a BA in Italy:

• a Chinese high school diploma with 12 years of schooling;
• an exam score of at least 400/750 or equivalent, summing the Gaokao score and the Yikao score, and the Gaokao score must not be lower than 300/750 or equivalent, in accordance with the guidelines provided by the Italian Diplomatic Representation in China.

For students from Hong Kong and Macau, who are not subject to the Gao Kao exam system, their study documentation will be evaluated by the AFAM institutions and the competent Italian Consular Authority to verify the necessary requirements for admission to study courses in Italy.

Requirements for the Turandot program for students who want to enroll in a MA in Italy:

• having obtained the bachelor’s degree;

The application is now open to all the students until 31st August 2025.

1. Fill out the registration form below and send it to qian.xue@unipv.it attaching a photocopy of applicant’s passport;

2. Go to universitaly.it to submit the pre-enrollment request before the end of August 2025 (the exact deadline will be defined by MUR soon). During the pre-enrollment, after selecting ‘Marco Polo/Turandot’ as student’s category, choose one of the following options:

• Il corso di Italiano è organizzato presso l’istituzione della formazione superiore in cui sto svolgendo la preiscrizione if your pre-enrolled University is Pavia;
• Il corso di Italiano è organizzato presso altra istituzione ufficiale della formazione superiore in convenzione quella in cui sto svolgendo la preiscrizione if you pre-enroll in another institution and insert ‘Università degli Studi di Pavia’ as the language school.

• Pay the full tuition fee of € 6000 through bank transfer to the account indicated in the registration form and send the receipt to qian.xue@unipv.it to get your acceptance letter issued;

• Make an appointment with the Italian authorities in China to which you will need to go to apply for the study visa.
