The Marco Polo/Turandot Program is a ten-month preparatory course tailored for Chinese students aspiring to enroll in Italian universities. This comprehensive program includes an intensive Italian language course, covering grammar, phonetics, and speaking, alongside a course on Italian culture and a specialized test preparation module.
Upon completing the program, students are required to take at least one of two final exams. The first option is the CILS Certificate (level B1/B2), administered by the Foreigners University of Siena and offered in Pavia through the Marco Polo Program. This exam is essential for students planning to pursue a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree outside Pavia. The second option is the Marco Polo Official Exam (level B1/B2), mandatory for those enrolling in Pavia. Students have the discretion to take both exams if they wish.
Initiated by the CRUI (Conference of Italian University Rectors), the Marco Polo/Turandot Program aims to enhance scientific collaboration between Italy and Asia and boost the enrollment of Chinese students in Italian higher education institutions.
With a focus on practical communication skills, the program equips Chinese students with a solid foundation in Italian language and culture, ensuring they are well-prepared for academic success in Italy.
